Elon Musk, CEO of the world’s foremost electric car manufacturing company, shared an excerpt from James Dyson’s new book about his company Dyson’s failed attempt at making an electric car. “Production is hard. Production with positive cash flow is extremely hard,” wrote Elon Musk while sharing the excerpt.
Anand Mahindra agreed with the Tesla chief but added that carmakers were pushing ahead despite numerous challenges. “You said it, @elonmusk,” he wrote. “And we’ve been doing that for decades now. Still sweating and slaving away at it. It’s our way of life…”
This is not the first exchange of tweets between Musk and Mahindra. Both of them are trendsetters, and known for their witty tweets. In December 2020, Tagging Musk, Anand Mahindra tweeted a short video of a fancy bullock cart in which the passenger seating compartment looked like the rear of the Hindustan Ambassador car and wrote, “I don’t think @elonmusk & Tesla can match the low cost of this renewable energy-fuelled car. Not sure about the emissions level, though, if you take methane into account….”
Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 17% rise in passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market in August vis-a-vis figures from the same month in 2020.
Meanwhile, Tesla’s entry to India has been on the table for many years, but it is still unclear when and how it will happen.
