Android security alert: Remove these 8 apps infected with Joker malware

Google has reportedly found 8 Android applications that are laced with Joker malware that can secretly collect data from the user’s device and subscribe to premium formats without any consent of users.

For the past three years, Google Play Store is
spotting these applications and Quick Heal Security Labs spotted these Android apps recently. The tech giant has removed all these applications to secure users.

The eight applications that are spotted with Joker malware are:

  • Auxiliary Message
  • Fast Magic SMS
  • Free CamScanner
  • Super Message
  • Element Scanner
  • Go Messages
  • Travel Wallpapers
  • Super SMS

The virus can steal sensitive information like contact list, SMS messages, and device info while interacting with advertisement websites and even subscribing to the premium.

The report shows that the Android applications can access notifications and take the SMS data and Contacts access while managing the phone calls permissions without any knowledge or consent from users.

Hence, users are highly advised to
avoid such applications and only go ahead with the ones that can be trusted.
