Charger for electric vehicles installed on public roads in Yokohama City = 8th afternoon

On the 8th, Yokohama City started a demonstration experiment to install a charger for electric vehicles (EV) on public roads for the first time in Japan. The period is scheduled for the end of March next year, and the issues and usefulness will be verified. The city is aiming for decarbonization by 2050, and will promote the spread of EVs by increasing the number of charging spots.

The experiment was conducted jointly with the EV charging service company “e-mobility power” (Tokyo). One unit was installed on the side of the prefectural road in Aoba Ward, and two parking spaces were secured. One charge is about 30 minutes. Originally parking is prohibited, but you can park only while charging.

In March last year, the city signed an agreement with e-mobility power to create an environment that makes it easy to ride EVs and to expand the charging infrastructure.
