Disposable plastic products that require businesses to reduce

Based on the new law aimed at reducing plastic waste, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry have decided to require businesses to reduce the provision of 12 disposable plastic products such as spoons, toothbrushes and combs. The business operator chooses specific measures such as paying a fee and returning points to those who declined to receive it. The new law is scheduled to come into effect on April 1, next year. It will be shown at the expert meeting to be held on the 23rd, and related ministerial ordinances will be stipulated in the fall.

Many of the plastic products that were previously offered free of charge are likely to be affected. It is assumed that when you buy a lunch box at a convenience store, you will not be able to receive a spoon for free, or you will not have a toothbrush in your hotel room and it will be provided only to those who wish.
