Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. announced on the 12th that water used for extinguishing fires leaked from the joints of pipes at the turbine building of Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 (Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture), which is undergoing decommissioning work. It is estimated that the total amount is about 110 tons, and a part of it has flowed into the reactor building. Chubu Electric Power has no external impact.

According to Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., an alarm indicating the possibility of water leakage was lit in the turbine building before dawn on the 9th, so workers confirmed that a leak of about 4 tons was found on the first basement floor. Furthermore, about 11 tons of water overflowed on the second basement floor of the reactor building, and about 95 tons flowed into the tank that temporarily stores the waste liquid containing radioactive substances.
