On the 30th, Okinawa Prefecture violated the conditions of avoiding the high water temperature and typhoon season issued by the prefecture regarding the coral transplantation by the Okinawa Defense Bureau of the Ministry of Defense in the sea area where the U.S. military Futenma Air Station will be relocated and the sea area scheduled to be reclaimed in Henoko, Nago City. Withdrew the porting permission as it worked. On the same day, the prefecture gave administrative guidance to stop the coral because it was highly likely that the coral would die, but the Defense Bureau replied, “The conditions are being observed and we will not stop.”

Governor Tamaki Denny strongly criticized the Defense Bureau’s response, saying in an interview with the press that “the act of further reducing the survival rate of coral, which is not already high, is contrary to the purpose of the Fisheries Resources Conservation Law.”
