Facebook Avatar: Three step-guide to create your new digital identity

Facebook has rolled out Avatars for Indian users. The feature is already available in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Canada. The feature allows users to create cartoonish character presenting themselves in chats. It works similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji and Apple’s Memoji.

The new Facebook Avatar allows users to create and share their cartoonish character with others. They can use these characters while commenting on posts, inside their own profile pictures and Messenger chat. Facebook is also allowing users to export these avatars to third party apps like Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram.

There are quite a few ways to create an avatar on Facebook. First is by going to the bookmark section on the Facebook app. Second is by going to the sticker section in comments, and the third way is by tapping on ‘try it’ on a shared avatar.

Users must note that you need a Facebook mobile app to create an avatar. The feature is now available for both iOS and Android users. To create an avatar follow these steps:

  1. After choosing one of the above posts, Facebook will show you how you would like your preferred face cut from various options.
  2. You will also need to have to choose your ear, nose, eye, eyebrows, ear accessories, and hairstyle.
  3. Upon choosing all these features, you will get your avatar.

The avatar will be shared on Facebook timeline, you can also download it as a photo for other purposes. For sharing it on feed or profile picture, you need to tap on the arrow button. The stickers are available in English and Hindi languages.
