Google and SpaceX join hands to offer Starlink internet service

Google has partnered with SpaceX for the Starlink satellites to deliver the internet through cloud services.

As per the deal, Google data centres will be used by the Starlink ground stations for installing. It will help in connecting the Starlink satellites to offer high-speed broadband internet. Elon Musk’s space development company will be using Google Cloud to deliver internet services.

The service is expected to be available in the second half of 2021 for enterprise customers.

President and Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Gwynne Shotwell said that the Google infrastructure and capabilities along with the low-latency and high-speed broadband of Starlink will help in offering fast and secure internet connection to the organisations.

Last year, Starlink partnered with Microsoft for the Azure cloud computing platform.

As per the deal, 7% of the total revenue of the business will go to Google cloud business that will help in increasing the share market of cloud computing.
