Google launches its dedicated Coronavirus portal in India

Google has launched its dedicated portal for Covid-19 in India. The page contains safety tips, important information, and emergency contacts in India. The portal was initially launched in the US on March 21, 2020.

Coronavirus has become the biggest search term on Google this year. The company continues to harness the attention in the best possible way. The new information portal is dedicated towards the pandemic as well as improved search experience for desktop and mobile. Google’s portal provides the basic, and most useful information along with relevant links and on-site options to explore further.

The information is displayed and divided in four tabs – overview, symptoms, prevention, and treatments. Users can also see the link to the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The website contains detailed information regarding the current status of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. The page highlights the efforts taken by the government and various advisories to curb the spread.

The company also plans to add more information over time. It will soon add the carousel of Twitter accounts from local civic organisations and health authorities. Various detailed modules with statistics and a map have been added. The map can help you track the prevalence of Covid-19 in countries around the world.

Google is not the only company putting efforts to curb the Coronavirus outbreak. Microsoft Bing team has also launched a web portal for tracking Covid-19 infection. Microsoft’s interactive map allows visitors to click on the outcry to see a specific number of cases and related articles.
