Jio’s complete 5G solution will be ready to go live next year. The announcement was made by Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani yesterday. As soon as the 5G spectrum is available, the technology will be ready for trials. The company hopes that the 5G solution will be deployed in the field next year.
During the virtual AGM, Ambani said, “Jio has created a complete 5G solution from scratch, that will enable us to launch a world-class 5G service in India, using 100 per cent homegrown technologies and solutions.”
Jio platform has built the world-class capabilities in technologies such as 4G, 5G, cloud computing, operating systems, big data, AI, AR/VR, blockchain, computer vision, and natural language processing (NLP). The company has partnered with 20 startups in India.
Ambani further added that the company plans to create compelling solutions that span multiple industry verticals and ecosystems like media, new Commerce, education, financial services, healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, smart mobility, and smart manufacturing.
The underlying technology for 5G has become a complex issue as the Indian government has banned Chinese companies and their products. India is cautious of technology and products supplied by Chinese firms. Jio’s complete Made-in-India 5G solution is likely to please the government.
Jio is betting big on 5G technology. The comprehensive rollout is expected sometime next year. It is also possible that Jio will become an exporter of 5G solutions to other telecom majors across the globe. It can offer a complete managed service with the power of data, analytics and cloud.
