The tech firm is working with the US government on various initiatives. The latest top-secret cloud offering is designed to offer privacy and security to the government users. The company’s executives said that the consistency among its various flavours of Azure makes it easier for developers.
The new functionality for Azure Government Secret cloud is being used in the US Department of Defence, law enforcement and other agencies. The cloud offering is authorised by the DoD impact level 6 and intelligence community directive (ICD) 503. Windows Virtual Desktop is now available for Azure Government with FedRAMP High accreditation.
Tom Keane, corporate vice president for Microsoft Azure Global said, “We are working with the US Government on accreditation. As part of our ongoing commitment to commercial parity driven by government mission requirements, Azure Government Top Secret regions are designed to provide the same capabilities as Azure (commercial), Azure Government, and Azure Government Secret, enabling a continuum of compute from mission cloud to tactical edge.”
Azure Government Availability Zones are built to handle the data centre failures via redundancy and logical isolation of services. Azure Modular Datacenter is available at Impact Levels 5 and 6, which are adding new Network High Availability Module for network resiliency.
