The online-only event was streamed yesterday across the world. The company managed to make the online event look like one worthy of a flagship product launch. OnePlus Founder, CEO Pete Lau said that the company plans to stay heavily invested in the development of new technologies such as 5G.
OnePlus gave a detailed overview of both the products. OnePlus 8 features 6.55-inch display, Snapdragon 865 processor, WiFi 6, USB 3.1, Warp Charge 30T, Dual Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos, Macro Lens, Haptic Vibrations, Upto 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage with Turbo Write and HPB. It gets the first-ever quad primary camera setup and punch-hole camera on the front. The smartphone will be available in two storage variants – 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
OnePlus 8 Pro gets a brilliant 6.78-inch screen with 120Hz 3168×1440 px resolution. The company claims that it has received 13 awards from DisplayMate. It gets the same chipset as OnePlus 8 and UFS 3.0 fast charging. This device also gets Dual Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos and supports Warp Charge 30 Wireless. The company claims that this wireless charging technology can charge the smartphone to 60% in 30 minutes. The camera setup on 8 Pro includes 48MP primary camera with custom-made Sony IMX586 lens, 48 MP ultra-wide lens camera with 120-degree field of view, the telephoto lens offers 3X lossless and 30X digital zoom with unique colour filters.
Both the smartphones will be available in new colour option – Glacial Green, which is 100 combinations of colour, material, and finishing. OnePlus 8 is priced at $699 for 8GB + 128GB variant, and $799 for 12GB + 256GB variant. OnePlus 8 Pro price is set at $899 for 8GB + 128GB variant, and $999 for 12GB + 256GB variant.
