In a tweet, Samsung confirmed that it is extending warranty till May 31 on its products. This will be applicable for products whose warranty is expiring between March 20 and April 30, 2020. The extension of standard warranty is applicable on all Samsung products including smartphones, televisions, washing machines, and refrigerators.
It is extending the redemption period of offers for pre-booked customers of its latest flagship lineup – Galaxy S20. The buyers who have pre-booked the device can collect and activate their smartphone till April 30,2020. Previously the date was set as March 31, 2020. The Galaxy S20 buyers can now redeem Galaxy Buds+ till May 15.
Samsung India spokesperson said, “The health and well-being of our customers, partners and employees is important to us. With the Indian government’s mandate to observe complete lockdown, we have shut operations across our service centres and customer call centres. We urge our customers to use our Live Chat facility to reach out to us with any queries on their products.”
Other smartphone brands such as OnePlus, Realme, Oppo and Huawei have also extended warranties on their products in India. OnePlus has increased the standard warranty of products which was set to expire between March 1st and May 30th, to now May 31st. It is also extending the return and replacement period to 30 days.
Huawei has extended the standard warranty to June 30th. This applies to devices expiring standard warranty between March 21st to June 21st. Realme has announced extending warranty and replacement in a similar manner. Oppo has also confirmed extending warranty across all smartphone and accessories accessory whose warranty has expired during the lockdown period.
Itel and Lava have also extended the warranty of their products in India. Itel has extended the warranty by two months for products expiring warranty between March 20th too May 31st. Lava is doing the same for devices expiring between March 15 to May 15th.
