WhatsApp update: Here’s what you can expect in future versions

Facebook-owned messaging service, WhatsApp has been constantly pushing new updates to its mobile apps. Here are some of the most notable features that you can expect in the next releases.

This is one of the highly anticipated and long-awaited feature. WhatsApp has been testing the multi-device support for quite some time now. The reports suggest that the upcoming version will support up to 4 device logins at-a-time without requiring users to create multiple accounts.

WhatsApp is used for more than just business communication in today’s age. The messaging app has been working on a feature, allowing users to mute notifications from archived chats. The vacation mode will essentially mute notifications.

Search option within WhatsApp allows you to go through old conversations to find out a relevant piece of information. An advanced version of search will let users look up for files, images, and videos.

This feature was part of the latest beta version on Android. It allows deleting media files such as images, videos, and GIFs sent to the recipients. Whenever the recipients leave the chat, these messages will be treated as temporary messages.

The new addition to wallpapers will ask whether the user wants to set the wallpaper for a current chat or for all chats. Users can set independent wallpaper for different users. The feature is currently under development.
