Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform is all set to change the next-gen flagship products
Qualcomm believes that ‘always on camera’ will enable features like allowing users to unlock their smartphones without even touching the phone. Users will be able to unlock their phone with just a glance, without having to touch it or giving any voice command.
It said that the camera will also lock the phone if it detects someone looking over your shoulder.
The feature will also hide private notifications from popping up if someone else is looking at the phone with you.
World’s ‘most-powerful’ processor is coming to these phones soon
Your smartphone camera will be looking at you 24X7 for 365 days! Whether you are in your office or in your bed or in your wherever you take your phone, it will be watching you. Almost every other app these days asks for camera access. There have been so many cases of data breach and hacks related to cameras in the past. If you end up installing an app with malicious intentions, the app maker will get the power to see you anytime they want.
These days, operating systems inform users about the apps that are accessing their phone camera. But, not everyone knows how to access this information.
Qualcomm says that users will have the option to disable the always-on camera feature. Smartphone makers may add physical covers for cameras in the future. But for now, not everyone is excited about having a smartphone which is always watching them.
